Misfat Al Abriyeen is one of Oman's most beautiful mountain villages — a cluster of ancient stone and mud houses clinging to a hillside above terraced gardens, fed by a centuries-old falaj irrigation system.
What to See
Wander the narrow lanes between the old houses, follow the falaj channels through banana, mango and date plantations, and look out over the valley from the village's viewpoints.
The village's traditional houses are still lived in, and several have been restored as small guesthouses — staying overnight is the best way to feel the village's quiet rhythm.

Village Etiquette
Misfat is a living village, not a museum. Follow the marked walking paths, ask before photographing people, and dress modestly — residents welcome visitors who respect their home.
Practical Tips
The village is reached by a winding mountain road about an hour from Nizwa. Combine it with Al Hamra's old town and the road up to Jebel Shams for a full mountain day.
